Lorinser... assuming that by "5." and "6." you meant "15." and "16," you got 3 out of 4. Pretty damn good actually, given that most of this stuff is eclectic. Had someone asked me last year, before I embarked on the project, I'd probably have done worse.
I'll extend the offer on Car and Driver: 8 right, and a free, FedEx-ed copy of Standard Index of Automotive Design. 500 pages, with photos by Wimmer!

Sure, another one would be great (it couldn't possibly be harder). I would be really interested in reading that book!
Unfortunately, I have to go now, but will you be online tomorrow?

Well, thank you for the interest! I still have a few bits and pieces to send the publisher - am worn out, but thoroughly looking forward to getting that much-touted feeling of accomplishment... hope it hurries.

1. The Fiat Topolino. I believe Wimmer’s father once owned one! I accepted Fiat.
2. Maserati. Unfortunately, I forgot to note the exclusion of Rolls-Royce and Bentley, whose sales figures are hard to obtain. So I’ll accept any of the three. I also should have said imports… so Panoz would have worked, too.
3. The addition of a B-pillar. The Honda people should have played along.
4. Lincoln.
5. Lewis Lew Veraldi. I’ll take Telnack as a half-point, for he designed the thing; he was, however, put on the project by Veraldi, who was entrusted with the company bank account to come up with a winner.
6. Just-in-Time Production, Continuous Improvement, and Go to the Source.
7. Renault, in 1953. Renault was also the highest-selling import for a while.
8. Lincoln, in 1952. It was dubbed unisex placement.
9. H-point refers to the position of the driver’s hip joint. It is often fixed as a “hardpoint” early on in the product development process, for it defines the driving position.
10. Chrome Cobra.
11. Saab’s 99 Turbo. I’ll accept Saab 99.
12. Alfa Romeo, BMW, Fiat, and Subaru.
13. Fuel Injection.
14. Vertical Model Affinity refers to the sharing of cues over a particular model, over time (e.g: W126 S-Class and W140). Horizontal Model Affinity best describes similarities across a given range of models (i.e: the entire line-up).
15. Citroën.
16. Wedge-shaped front end, in the y/ z-planes. BMW front fascias sloped inward, into the ‘90s. Yugo was the unlikely manufacturer which shared this cue!
17. 264 Acura dealers (at last count). Rounded, 300.
18. The expression of identifiable moods in design.
19. Ford, with its Turbo-Drive automatic in 1954. Unlike with GM’s Hydra-Matic, it was unnecessary to pass the shift lever between a forward gear to engage reverse. Up till this point, Ford had used GM Hydra-Matics!

A third quiz would be great, I couldn't get 8.5 points without it.

I can post it:
1. What ill-advised tie-up produced the infamously awful Arna? (name the two companies).
2. AMG is to Mercedes as ______ is to Fiat (fill in the blank).
3. In the not-quite-science that is aerodynamics, what does CdA stand for? For an extra point, who was once the only manufacturer to publish these figures? For a third bonus point, theorize why no one bothers anymore.
4. Which car broke Alfas so-called postwar big-car curse?
5. What is the nature of the appeal of androgynous cars? (i.e: why would a manufacturer pursue this route of design?)
6. To what era of car design does the Black Look belong? (name the decade)
7. I have 3 actual product budgets from the '90s: $1.6 billion, $250 million, and $2.8 billion. Which of these three budgets represents the Chevrolet Corvette C5s product development cost? (choose one)
8. What two automotive companies did Romano Artoli recently run?
9. What is a Cahier des Charges, or what GM might describe as a VTS?
10. On an airplane flying from London to Tokyo, you meet a car designer. He tells you that he has just left work for the weekend and is going to see his brother, who designs cars for a Japanese company. Name either your fellow passenger, or his brother.
11. In 1996, what was the longest sedan available in the American market?
12. Of all the French companies who have tried their luck at the U.S. market, which one officially continues to assist enthusiasts with parts?
13. What aspect of Ford style is engineer Childe Willis famous for? (hint: it continues in Ford products today)
14. Which company recently produced what was frequently described as a two-door minivan?
15. Define the difference between design and style. (3 points essay question?!)
