The new company, expected to be operational in the year’s second quarter, initially will import and distribute Buicks, Opels and Cadillacs.
TAIPEI – General Motors Corp. and Yulon Motor Co. Ltd. have entered into a joint venture to assemble and distribute GM vehicles in Taiwan.
The partners will invest NT$2 billion ($62.5 million) to set up a new company, Yulon GM, with Yulon taking 51% controlling interest in the venture and GM holding 49%.
Yulon will control four seats on the new 7-man board of directors and will name the company's chairman and president. GM, with three board seats, will appoint the deputies.

Taiwan's a good market, but they consider anything Corolla-sized and up to be a luxury vehicle, so if GM wants to sell anything in those segments they'll have to spice up their interiors.

Interesting. I really don't know anything about the Taiwanese market. I'll have to look around on some sites, you've got me intrigued now.
