Saab 9-3 Sport Hatch Debut

As I said at C/D, nothing but the front end looks much like a Saab. The rest looks like a Volvo V50 with white lights.

I don't like it. The front looks good (typical Saab) but the side looks odd, and the white taillights are terrible.

I read this and was expecting something more along the lines of the old 9-3 hatch, not a full fledged wagon. Not that the wagon is bad, I think it looks pretty good, albeit not terribly Saab-ish. But I was hoping for a 4 door fastback type hatch like the Mazda6 5 door or the last 9-3 hatchback. I love the looks of the 9-3 sedan and think that a fastback would look really sharp.

I agree about the regular 9-3 being a good looking car. I think the fastback style you're talking about would have looked much better, but oh well, they don't pay me to think up designs for them. And they shouldn't have paid whoever put those taillights on there.

I agree completely to all of that.

I guess they figure a hatch might take more sales from the 9-2X.

Its "handsome" on the most part, but those huge eurro tails are horrible.

Other than the 9-3 sedan's front end(which looks strange on the wagon), it's a very good looking car.
