Well, it seems like everyone except for me is getting new cars lately. An aquaintance of mine from the project I've been working on a lot lately just got an 05 Scion tC. Bought it at the dealership in Springfield, Missouri, no major options that I can tell, but that's an exceptionally nice car. The interior is very nice, seat comfort was great, legroom was good, and it actually has a real rear seat. For real people! The dash/console looks great, my only observation was that most of the plastics were hard plastics, but they looked good, and didn't feel cheap or hollow, so they are evidently "good plastics". I also like the door that hides the CD deck and then folds away into the dash. Handling was good, engine wasn't a heart stopper, but it was quick, and smooth. The dual sunroof thing is extremely cool, and I really like that it's a hatchback, but looks like a conventional coupe. Anyway, I'm really impressed with this car, I'd never been in one before. If I were looking to spend around $17-19,000 right now, that'd definitely be the car I choose. Scion should continue to be a success if they continue to make cars like the tC.
I think so. It's not looking good right now, I thought I'd be about done with my weekends, but I'm not yet. At any rate, I'll be in St. Louis, West Lafayette (Purdue area), and Atlanta within the next two months, so if I have down time, I'll visit some dealerships. There's a very nice Rolls Royce/Bentley dealership in Atlanta.

I'd fly to New York to "see the sights" during the NYIAS if you can't make you more-local one, but really all auto shows in a major city are worth going to.

I believe that, but New York isn't an option this time around. If I don't get to go to any auto shows this year, maybe I'll get to go to some next year.

Atlanta and Dallas have auto shows in mid-April, Denver has one in early April, Columbus (Ohio) and Minneapolis have them in mid-March, and Milwaukee and Cleveland have them in early March. (All according to http://www.buick.com/lucerne/calendar.html).

I'll be in Atlanta from April 19th-23rd... is there a show going on then?
I really like the tCs, I'd love to have one as a first car but the prices probably won't drop enough by the time I get a car.

It'd make one heck of a first car. I want one as well, but just because I think it'd make a fun, econonomical, daily driver. It's a very nice car with a great combination: feels sporty, has practical use.
I also really like the Scion tc. I would have loved to have been able to test drive one when I was car shopping a while back. To bad they aren't sold here.

That is unfortunate. I personally found the tC to be the best combination of sportiness, practicality, quality, and price in the coupe market, and if I had the money, or were needing, a new car, it would almost definitely be what I bought. I don't see you complaining though, you've got the best sporty small sedan out there on it's way to your garage.
