New Chevy Caprice

Source: Popular Mechanics - 04/05

Article quote:

"Chevrolet is working on a new sedan that will be its flagship in 2007. Early sightings of the vehicle show a full-size model reminiscent of the Caprice of the late 1990's.

This car will take direct aim at Ford's Crown Victoria and Chrysler's 300.

However, reports indicate that the new car will use a front-drive chassis, not a rear-drive like those competitors.

Dominant features include a large, rectangular grill that's split with a horizontal bar. In back, the sail panel stretches rearward at a soft angle to blend in with a foreshortened decklid."

Yeah, that was the reaction on GMI, too.

Maybe they'll try a FWD Impala SS with loads of torque steer and lack of traction but falsely marketed as a musclecar sedan...Oh wait! They already did that!

With proper systems, torque steer can be almost eliminated, and FWD is arguably better at a lot of things. However, there are some things that just can't be done with anything other than RWD, most of which are against safe driving practices, but they sure are fun.
