First of all, I'm not logic.

Secondly, addressing your actual point, those who would definitely fail anyway shouldn't put forth an effort. Everyone else might as well.

No, not really. Mine said that winners never quit. Meaning if you win, you don't quit. Quitters never win, meaning if you quit, you don't win, and Those who never win and never quit are idiots. Meaning if you continually lose, you should quit. So all mine suggests is people should quit if they continually lose.
