IFCAR Comparo Preliminary Rankings: Upscale Sedans

Those of you who remember the previous IFCAR comparos (which can be found at http://caranddriver.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=55952&forumID=11&catID=1&search=1&searchstring= and http://caranddriver.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=57554&forumID=11&catID=1&search=1&searchstring= in case there are some new, forgetful, or lazy members who never saw them) may remember what my rankings are based on: Overall package.

Haven't written the thing yet, but here are the sixteen cars that met the requirements in the order that they'll probably finish (subject to change):

1. Acura TL
2. Infiniti G35
3. Lexus ES330
4. Nissan Maxima 3.5SL
5. Lincoln LS Luxury
6. Volvo S40 T5
7. VW Passat GLX
8. Subaru Outback 3.0R
9. Lexus IS300
10. BMW 325i
11. Cadillac CTS 3.6
12. Chrysler 300 Touring
13. Audi A4 3.0
14. Volvo S60 2.5T
15. Mercedes-Benz C240
16. Jaguar X-Type 2.5

wow, I had no idea the LS was anywhere near that good, and I would have thought the 300 be ranked higher, but thats just from my impression of the car and the touring is probably overpriced right?

The LS is an excellent value, lacking mainly in acceleration (with the V6) and interior quality, both of which were still about average. The 300 Touring isn't especially expensive compared to the entry-luxes, but it isn't an especially good car without the V8.
