I don't have a choice, or ANY input on the matter, at all.  My position is strictly an outside volunteer, and at that, more concerned about the use of the forums than the systems behind them.  It's a corporate wide HFNM matter, any web forum for any HFNM publication will have IdealBBS.

Plus, I'll readily admit to not being any kind of software guru.  I'm a bit more well versed on hardware, as far as repairs and upgrades go.


Personally, I'd love to go back to Windows 3.11 some days.


As for forum programs, most of them look like GUI'ed up versions of the system we used back in the early '90s called WWIV, but i can't remember what the hell it stood for.

Well, I did find out what the problem seems to be with the recent outages.  Apparently, there are so many messages on the forum, it's overloading the software's ability to handle things, so we're going to prune the topics over 2 years old.  Given that there are well over 1,000,000 posts on C & D, and the server also handles other forums for HFNM, this is at least a plausible excuse.
