I was talking to one of my neighbors today, and his parents just traded in their 1995 E-Class for a 2000 Rolls, which I would assume is the same one thewizard saw. I hope they visit him soon.
I never see anything of interest. I'll just have to wait till the KC Show.

If it's a sedan, it probably is the Seraph, which would run around $110,000 for a 2000 model, probably a little higher. It could be a Corniche if it's a coupe, and those are slightly more expensive. Even though they depreciate like a rock, they're still really expensive. I personally wouldn't want one, but they certainly have an image, and they're nice to look at. If they visit, take pictures!

He estimated that they paid $120,000 (an obscene amount), and it's probably the Seraph sedan.
If I have my camera out when I see it, I'll be sure to nab some pics.

Not in the DC area you can't. I live the least-expensive DC suburbs, and a few years ago a "decent" house would be at least $200K. And prices just soared, now it would probably be $300K for a decent house.
Actually, that may be where they got the Rolls money from, they're real estate agents.

Probably. Well, in small-city midwest, you can buy a decent to small nice house for that much.

But the cost of getting there doesn't make up for $1,000s spent on a house. My brother just bought his first house for roughly $50,000. 3 bedrooms and in real good condition for that money.

Don't know what job opportunities would be available in your neck of the woods though.

Well, my brother lives in a 17k population town, and he's a carpenter. The town also has Truman State University and an Osteopathic School thing.

Are homes that inexpensive in the major cities in your area (IE Kansas City)?

I have no idea.

Good grief that's cheap! We bought an older two bedroom on two acres near town, it needed some change of decor mainly, but we built on, etc. Anyway, when we bought it, after sitting empty for a year and a half, and being put in an estate trust at a local bank (so it went cheaper than a house like this normally would) it was $80,000. It's worth considerably more than that now, because of what we've done to it, but that's out of town. A nice three bedroom in town on a lot will run you from 90-180, a larger, or lux one ranges up to 300. And this is just a town of 12,000 (roughly 20-25,000 if you extend the range to about a mile outside of the city limits in each direction), so I can't imagine a 3 bedroom house for 50,000. That's a really good deal. What's the average income where you live?

I don't know (is there a way to find out?), I don't think it's very low though, I think the house was just a VERY good deal. The only thing he did to it was put in a new front door and he painted it and stuff (old woman, oldish interior decor).
And iffy, my mom said that a decent house in Kansas City is probably $150-$200k.
