A previous-gen E55, a blue 240Z, a new Avalon with a custom grille, and a PT convertible."
What kind of custom grille? And I've seen a couple PT convertibles running around. It seems Chrysler found a way to make the PT Cruiser even uglier... cut the roof off.

I've seen a "pimped" 1980's generation Econoline. Little spinners and a shiny grille, probably the only parts of the vehicle not covered in rust and flaking paint.

I've seen some rust-bucket neons and a few escorts that way. I completely lack understaning for why people do that, it only draws more attention to the less shiny parts of the car, like rust, in my opinion.
An old Cadillac boat, with really skinny tires sticking all the way out of the fenders, and gold spikes on the wheel hubs.
Also a charbroiled Dodge Ram, the whole front was burnt to a crisp, the only spot left that looked okay was the tailgate and rear right fender.

No idea, I haven't heard of any wrecks or anything, but I don't get the paper either. I might be able to find out.

If it was a wreck it would be. It might be if it just caught on fire too, I don't know (we have a stupid and crappy paper).

Well, I consider our newspaper pretty pathetic most of the time (though they do keep me up to date on large business expansion and major construction projects in the area, which are interesting) but they normally don't cover minor wrecks (ones that draw a lot of attention because they block off highways are a different matter) or vehicles catching on fire. You might have luck if you check under the police reports section of your newspaper, that's normally where you find the minor stuff.

Oh, I forgot to mention my car spotting of the week. I saw several nice cars, but my favorite was the A8L that the man I was meeting with for the day drove. (He was the VP of Rolls Royce North America (you know, jet engines and such) so I'm sure he could afford it. Nice guy, though. )
