There's an SC430 parked in a driveway maybe a block from my house.

Same household just traded in an Escalade for a new STS.

SC430s are rare around here, but I hear they're common in places like California. I like them, and they're definitely a noteworthy sighting, here anyway. There are only two in town that I know of, but convertibles aren't that popular here, let alone expensive luxury ones. Sounds like those people near you have quite a bit of money, ifcar, and evidently (as is shown by getting rid of the escalade) improving taste.

They don't have money, but they know how to spend it.

The people who live in my neighborhood either live there because they spent so much on their cars that they couldn't afford a decent house (I've got a 2004-gen XJ8, two GTOs, a CLK320, and a decent number of Acuras, Lexuses, and Mercedeses), or live there because they can't afford to/too cheap to get a decent car OR house.

I don't particularly like the rims they put on the SC430 stock, but they do at least fit the look of the car. What kind of rims had that person put on it?

I only saw it for a second as I went past it, but they were simply massive and without any styling whatsoever. I can't really describe them very well (obviously) though.

A Chrysler Dynasty that had a humongous sticker on the rear window saying "Congratulations, you've just been passed by a Dynasty"

It's nice to see people that are secure with owning crummy cars. I liked a sticker I saw on a Geo Storm once that said "I drive it because it's cheap". I liked that one too.
