I'm willing to bet that 98% of those Econoline sales are for fleet type sales (LOTS of business have Econolines, but I've only seen about a dozen that are actually private owned).

Probably not 98%, but definitely above 90%, depending on what you call a fleet sale. I'd say probably 95% are owned by businesses.

So what?  I just wouldn't expect the Silverado to be #2 in sales ahead of Camry and Accord and all of those.

The Silverado has been in second for something like a dozen years.

Unless I'm incredibly mistaken, I believe it normally is. I know it is on yearly totals.

Wow, didn't know that.

Which reminds me, when did they start using the Silverado name?

99 maybe. It was always a trim of the C/K1500 though.

I believe that's correct. Silverado applied to more than one GM vehicle for a while, all of our Suburbans were the "Silverado" trim of the Suburban. I'm pretty sure it was 99 when it officially became the name of the Chevy truck.

Oh, it was just a trim?   We had a 1997 Silverado.

I'm not sure exactly. I know someone with a 1998 "Silverado" but I've never been sure if that was actually the model name or not. Wait, evidently not, I just found this on MSN
"The Silverado was introduced in 1999 as a replacement for the C/K with all-new styling and new V8 engines. " . So ifcar was right.

Of course not. But you weren't sure. Neither was I. Now we are. Everyone wins!
