The Forester receives more horsepower, a recalibrated suspension, and revised front and rear styling for 2006. Variable valve timing and a new intake and exhaust system boost power by 5 percent to 173 horsepower. The turbocharged boxer four-cylinder on the XT gets 230 hp. The uplevel L.L. Bean edition gets a self-leveling air suspension in the back to keep things level when you load it up. Both models get more than an inch for extra ground clearance and will arrive in showrooms in June.

The big front plastic bumper assembly reminds me of the Ford Escape.

You could say that about the Tribeca, but this isn't too bad.  I don't actually like it, though, it looks kind of like something you would have found 10 years ago.

I actually think that the Tribeca looks ok, not exactly good looking, but its competitors don't exactly have Ferrari-rivaling looks either.

It's not that it's especially ugly, it isn't. But I considered the current Forester to have a rather attractive snout, but I can't say the same for the new one.

The Tribeca is hideous. I can't imagine myself ever liking that front. This isn't hideous, it's just not pretty.

I dunno....the Tribeca isn't that good looking, but it still looks a lot better than this. Each to his own, I guess.

It isn't. In my opinion the tribeca used it's styling ques from the Edsel. Urinal grill anybody?:

The Tribeca was designed mainly by a guy that used to work at Alfa Romeo, which would explain the fishnose grill.

I guess we can see why he got fired.

Actually,Andrea Zapatina's(the guy who designed the Tribeca) designs at Alfa were actually pretty good, much better looking than the Tribeca.
