Woohoo! My dad put this AVG thing on one computer, and it seems to have solved the problem. The only nuisance is that a window from the program will popup occasionally to say it has found some threat and will ask what to do, although the nuisance is minor.

Alexa is a toolbar that is used to rate web traffic. I used to use it, but it kept getting called up in my SpyWare scans (though it isn't dangerous) so I got rid of it (couldn't use it on Firefox anyway).
