I have to hear it a second time, though. (from him)

What's he doing in China, though?  He's like 13-14 and in Canada.

Kevin, outside of Missouri, vacations can include more than overloaded station wagons.

But to communist China?  I just think that's a little more than odd, I believe there's more to it than just a vacation.

And ever been to Missouri?

Lots of people vacation in China.

And yes, visiting an aunt in western Illinois, I got a chance to sample lovely St. Louis, and rent a car from the friendly people at Budget Rent-A-Car (who gave me an Econoline instead of a subcompact).

That's odd.  And St. Louis is much different from the rest of Missouri, St. Louis is a lot like Illinois.

As far as landscape goes, maybe, but otherwise, how?

Not really. They told me that they were out of Accents, but that I could be bumped up to "the next available size bracket" at no cost. I thought that would mean a Focus, maybe even a Taurus.

I flew into St. Louis, and drove out of it. A week later, I drove into St. Louis, and drove out of it. It was raining both times, and that's pretty much all I remember. I was concentrating on not flipping the Econoline, not on the lovely suburban scenery.

Well, of course the people act differently, which part of that is because of the landscape.

If you mean drive poorly and are generally irritable, then I suppose they act differently.

People at the airport were no more irratable than anyone else I've come across at an airport. The drivers did seem a bit...agressive.

Of the large cities I've been to, St. Louis is one of the more (not most, but more) dangerous ones, and the least friendly.

In DC, the traffic doesn't usually move at over 20 mph (if at all), so it's not particularly dangerous.

Could you please clarify what you meant by that?

I was trying to make the point that I saw little connection between them acting irritable (Most people I've talked to in St. Louis seem to be consistently pissed off at something) and driving badly (some of the worst drivers, as far as freeway driving goes, that I've seen, second to Houston) and the difference in landscape.
