the Altima SE-R?  Honestly, I'm still confused about it, but what are your opinions?

I was torn between "good" and "okay". I settled on "good" because the car's biggest fault isn't really the car, it's the price. The second-biggest flaw (torque steer) is made up for in the responsive acceleration and handling, and excellent (for a sporty car) interior room.

I compared the SE-R with the G35 Sedan Manual on the Nissan site, and the Altima's advantages are:

General

Lower price

Exterior

Electric sunroof

Y tire rating tires

Rear spoiler

Dusk sensor headlights

Time delay switch-off headlights

Interior

Telescopic steering column

60/40 split fold-down rear seatbacks

Remote fuel filler door release

Computer

Auto-dimming rearview mirror

Garage door opener

Coming home device

Audio

Bose audio system

8 speakers

Weight & Fuel Economy

Lower curb weight

Better fuel economy on EPA city cycle

Better fuel economy on EPA highway cycle

Dimensions

Greater leg room in rear

Greater interior passenger space volume

Greater cargo capacity, with all seats in place

So it looks like the SE-R has more standard stuff.

I would almost certainly pay extra for the sportier G35 or pay the same for the roomier Maxima instead, given the option.

I like the idea, but I can think of other cars I'd rather have for similar money. The Mazdaspeed6 and G35 sedan both come to mind. I give it a "Good" rating if only that I appreciate brands bringing out performance models at reasonable prices.

Personally, I'd rather buy a G35 than a Altima SE-R.

RE: What do you think of...

I wouldn't complain if I was given one, and I think it's a good car, but I don't think I'd buy one, if I were looking for a sedan in that general price range.
