A lot is going on in the compact market right now. And we need threads, so I'm making a small-sedan poll.
This group includes compacts and subcompacts, but nothing too expensive (like the VW Jetta or Subaru Impreza). And vote only for the version specifically listed, if there is one.
Please post:
1). Your favorite, along with a sentence or two about why you chose it. 2). A complete order of all the vehicles, ranked first to last. 3). An explanation of your reasoning behind your least-favorite. 4). Anything else that you think is necessary to explain what you think.
And be prepared to defend your rankings, so have a reason for everything. Don't leave any cars out either.
Oh, and of course have fun, and everyone has to post.

Of the one I looked at, the fit and finish was actually better than the STS I'd just been in (though materials, naturally, were not quite as nice), a pretty good sound system, decent engine, and relatively attractive styling. The front seats were pretty comfortable for a short period of time, but I didn't sit in the rear, and have no idea what it'd feel like on a longer drive. The interior wasn't exceptional for this group at all, but it didn't seem near as far off as the last Cavalier did.

I hated the Cobalt seats. Not only is the rear poorly shaped and cramped, but the front seats are as bad as or worse than the Cavalier's. Hard, low, and worthlessly-shaped. And pricing isn't especially competitive either.
Just thinking about it makes me want to bump it down a few places more on my list.

Just the seats? I find that kind of odd, of course I'm used to riding a bus for the last 10 years, and I'm not too picky.

Seats and features for the money are probably my two most-important considerations, and the Cobalt fails horribly at one and does merely adequately in the other. And aside from quick acceleration and good interior quality, it doesn't excel in any other ways to compensate.
And Kevin, you haven't voted here or in some of the other polls. Get cracking.

I haven't had much time to try and make my lists, plus I really don't have much to base opinions on.

Yeah, I know, I'm quite a bit behind, school has been a b**** lately, luckily the 25th is the last day, though. I'm still on January of Car and Driver.

School can't possibly take up that much of your evening time.

With the end of the year every class is having tests around the same time, so lately, yes it has taken up time.

We don't, but school is out in less than two weeks so all the teachers have to have the tests around the same time.

I didn't sit in the rear, and the front didn't seem too bad, though I wasn't in it too long. It was too low for my tastes, but I didn't notice the shaping being an issue. I honestly can't remember how firm they were.

All I had to do was sit down, and I instantly hated the seats. I disliked the shape in that they were flat and not angled (didn't compensate at all for being too low), and were very hard. And the rear was worse.
